A Heavy Load

The Tuesday session was cancelled because of heavy rain.  Hopefully, they will be able to catch up on Tuesday when everyone else is enjoying half-term.  The Wednesday and Thursday sessions went to Kilnsea, and confined their observing largely to the triangle area.

The biggest surprise on Wednesday morning was the heavy kill a Kestrel was carrying.  It was only on examining our photographs that we discovered it was a Redwing!

There was no Kestrel carrying a Redwing on Thursday, or   Bearded Tits, but the star bird in the morning was a long-eared Owl.  It was a lifer for some.

On Friday we had our first autumn visit to the wolds.  It was amazingly bright for a change with hardly any wind.  It was very chilly at the start, but by lunch time it felt almost tropical for late October.
